Today is another regular office day, and I went for lunch at 1300 hrs. Diwali is coming; thus the canteen is was not that much crowded. I sat down and started having my lunch. TV was on CNN IBN TV18…I was really shocked to see what they were showing, it made my stomach sick. A girl was born with eight limbs, actually was a Siamese twin where the second sister was highly mutated, not head and joined through reproductive organs.
Where is the decency gone? Does media agencies now-a-days don’t consider the time and target audience? Does nobody in the media house has the guts/intelligence to censure the images?
I understand that news are sometimes disturbing. And disturbing news are the one that highlight the gravity of the situation. But what is the news here? A set of doctor operating(probably) on a poor girl to restore here life back. But this news strong enough to make millions of viewers sick? Maybe the doctors/hospital wants some publicity/ press coverage. But that does not warrant for disturbing images…
Hoping that sanity returns to media…
